theology of the incarnate God that makes Christianity the most unique and powerful faith on
the planet. This incarnation of God is both scandalous to some outside the faith, but to the
faithful it is the transforming authority of the Gospel. Our task therefore is to follow God’s lead
and incarnate with the poor and voiceless. Christianity is marked by the incarnate body of
Christ.

Children are a gift of God. The gift deserves gratitude. There is no entitlement or privilege for parents. Parenting is a giving role, a role of descent. Parents are stewards of something they do not possess. Hannah understood God’s gift (1 Samuel 2:1-10). Mary understood her role and was deemed faithful (Luke 1:46-55).
